One of the sweetest tastes of summer never fails to draw a crowd, and this year is no exception.

The 37th annual Sourwood Festival is this weekend in Black Mountain. Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the 3-day celebration. The festival gets its name from award-winning sourwood honey, which is produced here in the mountains.

Local beekeepers say the annual event is great for sales, but that's not all.  "This festival is a great service to beekeepers and honey in WNC, we can use it for educational purposes and people really get to know what beekeeping is and what it takes to make honey," says Master Beekeeper, Ray Revis, Jr.Sourwood Festival Draws a Crowd
