From ME To Haiti

WGME 13 is proud to team up with the City of Portland and Konbit Sante for a telethon to raise money for the relief efforts in Haiti. From ME To Haiti begins with live broadcasts from Portland City Hall during Daybreak on Thursday, January 21. There will also be live broadcasts at Noon, Live at Five and News 13 at 6:00. Konbit Sante is a non-profit organization based in Portland that has been working to improve healthcare in Cap-Haitien and northern Haiti for nearly a decade. The organization already has Mainers on the ground in Haiti trying to help with relief efforts. The money raised during Thursday's telethon will go directly to Konbit Sante's efforts in Haiti. You'll hear more on just how great the need is, the great work Konbit Sante has already done, and what the group hopes to do in Haiti with your help. Now through Sunday, News 13 and Bleach Bright are helping Heart with Hands collected food, disaster relief supplies and funds at the center court inside the Biltmore Square Mall.
On Friday, "Bleach Bright" will be donating a half of their proceeds for the day to Hearts with Hand.
Hearts with Hand will be collecting the following items:
Rice and beans
Bottled water
Non perishable foods
Baby formula/foods
Convenience type foods
Paper goods
Camping supplies
Flashlights and batteries
Shovels
Cooking oil
First aid supplies

Diapers/wipes
Tarps/plastic sheeting
