Almanac
Clouds will be on the increase across the region tonight, out ahead of a potent storm system that will bring widespread rain to the Western Carolinas Saturday. Temperatures will be warmer overnight, but colder tomorrow as many will only reach the 40s to lower-50s at best.
Expect periods of rain Saturday with rainfall amounts generally a half-inch or less. As a slow-moving low pressure moves east across the Tennessee Valley rain chances will carry-over into Sunday as well, with most of Sunday's rain falling early. Winds will pick up Sunday and temperatures will warm into the 50s for most mountain locations to 60s farther south.
Our weather pattern will remain cooler overall heading into next week with highs ranging from upper-40s to lower-50s for many across WNC. We'll experience drier weather much of next week with a chance of rain returning by Friday.
