A $5.6 million expansion project is under way at Saint Luke's Hospital in Columbus.
The 15,000 square foot addition will include six new patient rooms, primarily for orthopedic patients, plus, rehabilitation services will soon be located under one roof.
Ken Shull, St. Luke's CEO, "the reason this is such a needed project is our building was built in 1972 and it was state of the art in 1972. Our equipment is updated, the people are updated, but the building has a lot of constraints."
The hospital is borrowing $3.6 million for the project with the remaining $2 million coming from donations from the hospital foundation.
The opening is scheduled for December.
