It's a math assignment that comes full circle.
As you'll see in our Never Stop Learning report, per-calculus is connecting to the community and making a difference.
Students at Owen High School have come up with creative ways to incorporate a circle into a logo design.
As part of their math unit on the circle each team chose a non-profit, like the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's Hospital, and World Hunger.
Then they pitched their project to their classmates.
It's an assignment that reminds the students math isn't just about numbers it can also be about connecting to social causes.
Before work began on the assignments students "pitched in" money for the winning project.
They voted while we were there and Laney's won.
$160 will be donated to Brother Wolf.
