Kindergarteners are taking part in a very healthy "hands on" lesson.

Executive Chef William Dissen is teaching students about the goodness you get from locally grown foods.
The owner of the Market Place Restaurant in downtown Asheville has volunteered at Hall Fletcher Elementary school for the past three years.
This morning he's helping the kindergarteners make whole English muffin pizzas.
Given a choice, the students say you should always pick "natures food" over candy.
The students also spent some time in the school garden. They planted a few seeds and talked about the fresh herbs they were grow into before school is out for the summer.
The lesson is part of the growing minds program sponsored by the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project.
