It's as much a tradition each Autumn as the fall leaves, the migration of the Monarch butterflies.
Pre-school butterflies were released from their classroom at Carolina Day School to begin their migration to "Mexico". In this case is a trip across campus to the middle school and upper school. Along the way the little Monarchs stop for "nectar" breaks to give them energy. The children are being led on their journey by Carolina Day seniors, many who who took part in the simulated migration when they were pre-schoolers.
This is the 19th annual Pre-K Monarch migration at Carolina Day School. Teachers say it's a fun way to link the activity to their math and science lesson.
