Kindergarteners are learning about the different types of animals who live in the forest.

As you'll see in our Never Stop Learning report, they even get to touch some of them.

For many of these students this is the first time they've seen a snake up close, let alone feel his scaly skin.

This morning these Vance Elementary School kindergarteners are on a field trip to the Asheville Health Adventure.

They're learning about the animals different skin types and how they travel.

And the kids get to see Smoky put out a camp fire encouraging kids to always play it safe in the forest.

There are a number of hands on activities in the Smoky Bear Woodsy Owl Exhibit and the children are encouraged to play with each one.
