The Blue Ridge Humane Society Shelter says a cat made its way from
Canada to Mills River, and lives to hiss about it. The Maine Coon mix
somehow ended up in a truck on its way to Van Wingerden, then ran into
their plant cooler where it survived in the dark 38 degree facility for 7
days. Employees finally lured it to a cage with some gourmet cat food.
The cat's been named "Joe Cool" and will eventually be adopted out.
Experts say considering the feline's trip, he's fortunate to be alive.
