Family Happy To Be Reunited With Dog

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 09:21 PM EDT

An Asheville family is reunited with its long, lost dog just in time for Thanksgiving.

"Marley" was brought back home with the help of the Asheville Humane Society and News 13's Pet Pals segment. The 2-year-old boxer/lab mix disappeared nearly 9 months ago. Asheville Humane Society's Meghan Jordan says when "Marley" arrived at the shelter, she was pregnant and in pretty bad shape. The dog was not the best candidate for a bright future, but that changed with one newscast.

Cynthia Carpenter's aunt spotted "Marley" on News 13 and called her niece. Marley is now outfitted with a micro-chip.
