Few will argue divorce has reached epidemic proportions in America. It ends 38 percent of all marriages. If trends continue, that number will one day hit 50. Some studies indicate conservative Christians have a divorce rate that is already close to 43 percent.

It's a controversial issue many Evangelical ministers are trying to wrestle with. They are trying to figure out how to approach a serious problem that threatens their congregations. Many believe divorce is not about statistics or any specific religious group, but a symptom of societal change.      

There is also the issue of same-sex marriage and how that figures into Christianity and the changing face of the American family.
