Area Shelters Open Doors
Updated: Tuesday, December 11 2012, 05:20 PM EST
Area shelters are offering emergency cold weather services to make sure everyone has a warm place to sleep tonight.
A "Code Purple" was designated today because temperatures are expected to dip down to freezing.
This means that local shelters will have extra cots, floor, and bed space, and that no one will be turned away.
ABCCM Executive Director Scott Rogers, "very much committed to code purple to make sure everybody has a place to stay. Also making sure people don't freeze in their own home so we're providing heating assistance for families."
Again, during a code purple, no one will be turned away.
