Updated: Wednesday, February 26 2014, 11:28 PM EST
Transparency and commitment. They're qualities faculty members at Montreat College are requesting the board of trustees to obtain moving forward. The call to change was spelled out in a letter addressed to board members Wednesday. The faculty outlined specific actions that they say would help restore confidence in board members.

The full faculty met Wednesday for about two hours. Their meeting comes a day after Point University announced it had decided not to merge with Montreat College. Earlier this week, the faculty voted "no confidence" in the board after members continued to pursue an affiliation with the Georgia-based school despite protests against it. When point said no Tuesday, there was a collective sigh of relief on campus.

Faculty says some board members are even apologizing for not listening.

"Board members have already reached out to me personally. Expressed regret that we got to this place. One board member even today expressed a deep apology for things that board has done so they certainly reached out to us which is incredibly encouraging," Kevin Auman, chair of the Faculty Executive Committee.

The faculty is still asking board members who can't  or have violated the board's by-laws to resign. Trustees are scheduled to meet this Saturday and it's said they will be addressing the faculty and their requests.Call For Change At Montreat College
