Controversial Church Hearing Postponed

The controversial mountain church Word of Faith was in court again Monday. Moments before the grand gury hearing was set to begin, it was abruptly called off.
The grand jury proceeding to hear an assault case brought by former church member Michael Lowery, who says he was beaten by several church members for being gay, was postponed after Lowery recognized a member the jury as a Word of Faith Member.
After telling court officials he was concerned about having a biased jury, Lowery says, he was given two options.
"To either go in there like it was, with the Word of Faith church member of the jury, or to come back."
Lowery chose to postpone the hearing, which has been rescheduled for January. He says he was told the grand jury will reconvene without the church member in question.
