Dog Abuse Case

After two dogs were thrown in a dumpster in Swain County, residents are calling for a local animal abuse ordinance.
Love Carswell's husband discovered two dogs inside a dumpster at the recycling center. One had already died. The other was wrapped in a plastic bag. She says if Swain County had its own animal abuse law, this kind of thing might not happen. She says, “They could call a number, we could pick up the animal. We could take them to a county run shelter.”
County leaders say having animal control costs money they don't have. The dog that made it has been named "Bryson." He’s recovering at Noah’s Ark in Macon County, and people are already calling to give him a home.
