Fatal Crash Investigation
Updated: Friday, December 14 2012, 08:59 AM EST
The Asheville city employee who was hurt in Wednesday's fatal car crash is in good condition Thursday night.
The incident happened when the Ford Fusion sped off the road and went airborn landing hundreds of feet away and into the City Public Works lot. City workers were finishing their day back at the public works yard when David Jones crashed into two of their vehicles and two workers.
Witnesses say Jones had been driving fast and erratically before he crashed, killing his 3-year-old daughter. His brother, Kevin Sargent, says the accident was caused by a medical condition. Police aren't commenting yet as they continue their investigation.
Court records show Jones faces previous DWI and driving while license revoked charges.
There's no official word on Jones' condition, but his brother tells News 13 he suffered a head trauma and doesn't fully understand his child has been killed.
