Franklin Plant Reopens

More than one hundred workers who lost their jobs at a Franklin manufacturing plant last month are back at work.
Whitley Products told its employees on January 24th that its main lender wasn't going to provide the money it needed to stay open. Without it or a buyer, the plant would have to close.
Many started looking for a new job. However, company officials say prospects for a new buyer look promising, so workers were hired back after only a week.
Nearby businesses depend on those workers to help their bottom line. The plant makes metal tube parts for diesel engines, and construction equipment. Whitley is based in Indiana.
A corporate statement is expected soon.
