Guilty Plea, Avoids Jail Time

The Upstate woman who abandoned a newborn baby at Greenville's Bi-Lo Center pleads guilty, but avoids jail time.
26-year-old Jessica Blackham had the baby in women's rest room in February of 2011 and left the 6 lbs. baby boy in a toilet. A cleaning crew found the infant about 90 minutes later. He was rushed to a hospital and is now with a foster family.
Blackham was sentenced Wednesday to a year of house arrest and three years' probation. Blackham apologized and told the judge she may not have been thinking clearly because of blood loss.
