Habitual DWI Case

Updated: Tuesday, April 2 2013, 10:28 PM EDT

A man charged with driving drunk and crashing into a family's house in Waynesville, failed again to show up for his court appearance.

29-year-old Daniel Dotson was charged with DWI in 2008. Since then, his case has been continued several times. Barbara and Charles Zimmerman say Dotson drove his car into their home almost five years ago, causing extensive damage. They went to court Tuesday hoping to see jail time for Dotson, and compensation for their repairs. But once again he didn't show up.

The court issued a $100,000 bond on Dotson for failure to appear. Mothers Against Drunk Driving says authorities will find him, but when delays like this happen, victims' rights get lost in the shuffle.
