Happy Returns At Stores After Christmas

On the day after Christmas, it's become a tradition at a customer service counter near you. According to a Consumer Reports survey, twenty percent of us will return or exchange a gift this year.
At Target in Arden, little Killian Linder sums up his mission succinctly. "I'm returning gifts and using the money to get more stuff," says Linder, who got Play-Doh instead of Lego. With a quick transaction, he has the store credit to add to his massive Lego collection.
Another boy, Branson, wanted a toy instead of the footwear he got for Christmas. "And what I got for Christmas is a pair of slippers that are a little too tight for my feet," Branson lamented.
Most people we spoke to say getting what you really want after Christmas has become part of the holidays. "I think it's pretty much tradition, people go the day after christmas and exchange," says Mia Augustine of Hendersonville.
