That combines the area's largest rehabilitation service with the mountain's largest hospital.

CarePartners today announced they will become an affiliated member of Mission Health System.

That will add about 1100 CarePartners employees and 400 of their volunteers to the Mission system.

The president of CarePartners says this will allow a smoother transition to thearapy, rehabilitation, and hospice services to Mission's patients.

She also says it's the result of increasing changes in how the health care system operates.

Tracy Buchanan, CarePartners president, "as Carepartners has looked toward our future, and looked at health reform, and changes in reimbursement, and increasing regulations, we have found we have needed to explore other partnerships and relationships.  And that obvious partnership was with Mission Health."

Mission's CEO Ron Paulus says there will be a period of time where the hospital will merge its rehabilitation services with CarePartners.

Mission is the state's sixth largest health system.
