ICE Building Controversy
Updated: Tuesday, December 11 2012, 07:25 PM EST
A controversial building prepared for federal ICE agents gets a review from Hendersonville zoning officials.
City officials blocked federal immigration officers to use it after an inspection showed the building had equipment to detain illegal aliens.
The board heard more than two-and-a-half hours of testimony from the developer, and city inspectors, but took no action about whether this building meets zoning codes or breaks the law.
Some neighbors are upset that dangerous criminals could be locked up here, near Pardee Hosptial, homes, and schools.
Others say these kinds of facilities are safe and ICE agents should be allowed to use it.
Zoning officials could decide the issue at their next meeting on January 8th.
