A Weaverville man, who was accused of beating his wife to death, has been found incompetent to stand trial. Ray White was charged with second-degree murder in the death of his wife, Sandra.
In April 2006, the sheriff's office said White beat his wife after she hit him in the head. White was hospitalized from his injuries and charged nearly a month later.
Court documents say last October, a forensic psychologist found White had serious memory problems and would not be able to stand trial. The psychologist also said his impairment was partially because of the injury he sustained the night his wife died.
