A local young man is sharing his story of addiction to make change. He's trying to get synthetic drugs banned in every state.
For 3 1/2 years Brandon Cox says he battled a fake pot addiction. After getting clean, the 21-year-old is now speaking out about the dangers of the street drugs.
North Carolina has banned stores from selling things like K-2, spice and incense but authorities say manufacturers are tweaking the drugs just enough so the illegal chemicals aren't being used. That's why Cox is speaking out and making an effort to tighten the laws. He says he is working with local law enforcement and local politicians to see how synthetic drugs can be eliminated for good.
