A mountain business is under investigation after dozens of people complain they've been scammed. The North Carolina Department of Justice says they've received over 40 complaints since 2012  against Pontiac Pros and its owners in Black Mountain.

One victim who says he traveled all the way from Alabama only to find he'd been ripped off. Scott Smith lost $21,000. Smith says he bought a '78 Trans Am on eBay and hired Bob McElreath of Pontiac Pros to restore it. But when he came to pick it up, there was no car or refund to be found.

Dennis Worley, owner of Worley Automotive in Fairview says for the past week, McElreath has given victims the address of his car lot.

News 13 reached out to Bob McElreath several times, but couldn't get in touch with him. News 13's Emma Wright did speak to his girlfriend on the phone. She says she hasn't been involved in the business for 6 months. She also says McElreath has left town and she doesn't know where he went.
