Taking Out Sweepstakes Machines

Updated: Monday, January 7 2013, 07:20 PM EST
Online video gaming machines are on their way out.
City, county, and state law enforcement are laying out their plan to enforce the ban now that the North Carolina State Supreme Court upheld it.
The enforcement action against video gaming machines begins next Monday, January 14th. This pertains only to Buncombe County and City of Asheville.
The DA and law enforcement basically telling anyone in Buncombe and Asheville still operating sweepstakes or video gaming machines you have one week to close up shop.
After January 14th the sheriff says no warnings will be given.
If you're found even in possession of these machines you can be charged with a misdemeanor. 2nd offense is a felony.
Officials say it's unlikely the latest ban on these gaming machines will be overturned.
