Tree Falls On Car, 1 Killed

A freak accident claims the life of a McDowell County man. Marion Police say he was driving down Main Street when a tree fell on top of his car. Officers say the rain possibly caused the tree to fall from the embankment and hit two cars.
The accident happened just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. After the tree hit his car, he continued driving down the road and eventually crashed. The other driver was not injured. Police say the tree hit the hood of her car.
The identity of the driver has not been released. Officials are still working to notify the family.
