UPDATE: Victim Identified in Fatal Dragging

Updated: Wednesday, January 16 2013, 04:58 PM EST

The identity of a homeless man run over by three or four cars Monday night and dragged nearly six miles to his death has been released. Police say 45-year-old Dean Bush was hit as he walked along Tunnel Road near the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Police say Bush was trying to cross the street when he was hit. He got lodged underneath the last car. Bush was first dragged along Tunnel Road, then onto I-240 before his body was discovered at the Charlotte Street exit.

Bush was a regular at the Homeward Bound Shelter on Ann Street in downtown Asheville. The director tells News 13 Bush was disabled.

Police have not said if charges will be filed against the drivers in this case.

The Asheville Police Department is looking for a possible a 4th vehicle involved in Monday night's collision. They are asking for any information on a small white passenger vehicle that was traveling west on Tunnel Road. This car may have turned onto the parkway after hitting the victim.  Anyone with any information on this vehicle and its driver, please contact the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110.
