Video Sweepstakes Ban
Updated: Monday, January 7 2013, 04:14 PM EST
The ban of online video sweepstakes games is now in effect. And local law enforcement is making sure owners of the games comply.
The NC Supreme Court upheld the ban on the games last month. And several counties have already started enforcing it.
Today, the Buncombe County Sheriff, District Attorney, and Asheville Police Chief are holding a joint news conference explaining how they will enforce the ban.
They say the message is straight forward. They will be enforcing the ban. And since the ban was passed in 2010 and the appeal only suspended enforcement of it, there will be no grace period for the business owners.
