Western Highlands Network's Contract Canceled

Updated: Tuesday, April 9 2013, 07:26 AM EDT
State health officials end support of the Western Highlands Network, a mountain health care agency.

Hundreds of disabled, mental health and substance abuse clients in eight counties are left wondering where they will go for help.

Western Highlands' executives say no one will be left out of their treatment program if a new provider takes their place, but some clients aren't so sure.

A spokesman for the Health and Human Services says clients will be transferred to another manage care organization in the network.

No one should see an interruption in services.

The state ends the contract with Western Highlands Network July 31st.
