Wind Problems

The powerful winds are causing problems on some mountain roadways. The constant wind gusts are knocking down trees and power lines. Emergency officials fear the worst is still yet to come.
Strong winds have been causing problems in Asheville. Emergency crews were called out to Hazel Mill Road Friday. A powerful gust of wind knocked over a large tree onto some power lines. Both would end up falling onto the road. Power crews wouldn't comment if that incident caused the traffic lights to go out on Patton Avenue.
NCDOT says they are prepared to deal with any problems blown their way.
