Winter Storm Warning

Winter storm warnings and advisories out for the mountains as a major storm heads our way.
However, there are places where temperatures have still not dipped far enough for rain to switch over to snow. That's even the case in places bordering Tennessee. Bands of rain are coming through and also strong wind gusts. Many folks are getting the feeling that change is on the way.
Thick fog settled onto the mountaintop all along the state-line, cutting visibility. All the rain and and run-off caused a creek to rise in Mars Hill. The pavement is now starting to collapse.
Drivers need to watch out for moisture on the roads freezing when temperatures drop.
Katie Parham works at the Exxon in Mars Hill. She gets plenty of questions from people passing through, but snow doesn't seem to be a high priority.
