Women Charged With Counterfeiting

Two women are accused of trying to cash counterfeit checks in Walmart stores spanning across the mountains and into the upstate.
Stacey McCrary is in jail on more than $550,000 bond and 35 count including counterfeiting, uttering, and possession or manufacture of fraudulent identification. Connie Hamilton is also charged with using a fake ID to cash bad checks at Walmart in Forest City.
When police responded to a call from employees Sunday, in a search officers say they found fraudulent social security cards, numbers and fake checks.
Both women are suspects in a number of other local counterfeit check cases tartgeting Walmarts, including one in Hendersonville.
