Women's Heart Week

One in every two women will develop heart disease.  
It is the number one killer of women in our country, but it still takes a back seat to other health concerns.
The Mission Heart Path center works to help women recuperate from heart attacks and other cardiac events.  
Heart Path offers medically supervised exercise, diet and stress reduction programs.  
The doctors and nurses working with Heart Path say the key is prevention.  
Taking steps to eat heart healthy foods that are low in fat, salt, and cholesterol can protect your heart.  Stress reduction is also a heart healthy move.  
Another aspect is to know your risk.  
A history of heart disease in your family can increase your risk.  
It is important to let your doctor know your health history so you can make a plan for a healthy heart in your future.
