Prayers For Tripp
Updated: Tuesday, April 2 2013, 07:09 AM EDT
A two-year-old Atlanta boy seriously injured in an accident five months ago has become the focus of a Facebook frenzy. Tripp Halstead was struck on the head by a tree branch. He's been through more than a dozen surgeries and now he is back in the hospital.
Hundreds of thousands of strangers are pulling for him on social media. Tripp's story went "viral" after his parents started posting Facebook updates. The Tripp Halstead Update Page is filled with photos of the 2-year-old who was outside playing when a tree branch was blown-down by winds from Superstorm Sandy. Now almost 400,000 people have "liked" his page and are following his story.
Curt Brown lives in Etowah. He is just one among the many who have very strong feelings for a child they've never met.
Monday night's update is a difficult one. Tripp's parents report he had a rough sunday night. After only two days at home, he's back in the hospital. Doctors say that move is precautionary to play it safe.
