Water Line Grant

People in a Henderson County neighborhood are one step closer to having safe drinking water. Nearly two-dozen families in Dana found out there was a pesticide in their well water last year. Henderson County is going to apply for state grant that would pay to extend city water lines out to the county.
Since the contamination, folks in Dana have been living on bottled water. They say a free flowing supply can't come soon enough.
Henderson County commissioner Charlie Messer says if the county gets the grant, it will cover about half the cost of the project. The county will know if they've gotten the grant in the next few months. Additional grants will have to be applied for to cover the whole cost of the project.
