Two prep baseball tourneys began in the mountains Monday.
The first game featured is the nightcap of the Ram Classic, Roberson vs Brevard.
Its 1-0 Roberson in the second ,but Blue Devils threatening with the bases loaded and two outs.
Walker Rackley gets out of the mess by striking out Cody Owens, threat and inning over.
Roberson comes up with more runs in the third inning.
Sky Ferrell hits an opposite field rbi double which drops in left making it 2-0 Rams. Roberson adds to the lead when Mike Whitehead's bases loaded ground ball is booted by shortstop Owens, which allows two to score.
Rams go on to win the game 10-5.
In an earlier game at the Classic, Franklin led Pisgah 7-0 in the third, but the Bears rally.
The bases are loaded for Corey Ferguson who delivers a 2 rbi single to left.
Wesley Pope follows with a grounder to short, bobbled by the shortstop, helps the Bears go on to a 7 run inning.
Pisgah ends up winning the game, 18-10.
In the Buncombe County Baseball Tournament at McCormick Field, a cold day but Christ School bats warmed up their fans.
The Greenies against East Henderson. In the first inning, Loren King pitching to Ali Knowles who crushes the pitch off the wall in leftfield and ends up at third with a triple.
Desmond Russell follows with an rbi single off of King's glove to make it 1-0.
Knowles was terrific, controlling the Eagles hitters with a solid fastball and breaking ball.
Christ School takes the win 8-0.
