The Enka Jets have a big day in MAC athletics.
Enka leads the MAC golf tournament after the first round of play at Asheville Municipal Golf Course. The Jets shoot a team total of 301, two better than defending champs Tuscola. Roberson is third, eight strokes behind the Jets with Franklin in fourth place, 18 shots back.

Tuscola's Drew Page, the defending champ, shoots a six under par 66 to lead Franklin's Colin Chapman by three shots. Enka's pair of Tanner Futch and Ross Brown are tied for third place, six strokes back, shooting even par 72.
The final round will be Monday at Franklin's Mills Creek.

The Enka baseball team won its first outright MAC baseball championship in 12 years with an 11-4 win at North Buncombe.
The Jets will be the top seed in next week's MAC tournament. The semis and finals will be played at Roberson High School.
