Reynolds shutout McDowell 3-0 Tuesday to take the Northwestern 4A soccer title. The win means that the Rockets will play home games in the playoffs as long as they win until the state title game in Raleigh.

In baseball, a showdown for second in the WAC with Brevard at North Henderson. Both teams 6-2, trailing first place West Henderson by one game.
Brevard scored 2 in the first to take the early lead, but North rallies with 5 in the bottom of the first. The big blow was Caleb Bryan's two run double.
The visiting Blue Devils rally to win 7-6, and now have second place all by themselves in the WAC ,and if they stay there are assured of at least one home game in the upcoming playoffs.
