Miles Plumlee got his release from Stanford Thursday afternoon and later in the day he committed to play college basketball at Duke. Miles joins his younger brother Mason who gave an early committment to Duke in March.

Miles Plumlee wasn't happy with Stanford's lack of communication with him after coach Trent Johnson left the Cardinal to take the LSU job. He is graduating this spring , will go to Duke in the fall and will be eligible for the 2008-09 season.

Pisgah High School is looking for a new basketball coach.
Their coach of the last two years, Tommy Johnson, is leaving the Bears to take the head coaching job at North Wilkes High School. He cites family considerations for making the move. Johnson led Pisgah to the 2A title game this past season where the Bears lost to West Bladen. Pisgah was 36-17 in Johnson's two seasons in Canton.
