The Enka Jets won their second straight MAC baseball championship beating Roberson for the second straight year. Jets win the title 14-2 in the conference tournament championship game. The big blow, Cody Jones grand slam home run.
The top ranked team in 1-A, Swain County, falls to the third ranked team in 2-A West Henderson 6-5 in a battle of the mountains highest rated teams in Hendersonville. West won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning with a bases loaded walk, the fourth straight of the inning.
Swain won the earlier meeting between the two schools in Bryson City.
The Asheville Tourists got a walk off home run from Brian Rike to beat Savannah 5-4 at McCormick Field.
The 3A golf regionals held at Asheville Municipal Golf Course Monday. Forestview takes the title followed by Porter Ridge and Piedmont. No mountain teams advance to next week's state tournament.Roberson finished seventh, Tuscola ninth and Franklin eleventh.
No are golfers advance in the indivicual competition either.
Tuscola's Drew Page and Franklin's Colin Chapman shoot 74's, but miss advancing by three shots. Harold Varner of Forestview won the medalist honors by shooting a four under par 68.
