Two years after applying for admission into NCAA's division 2, Brevard College was accepted into the South Atlantic Conference. The school participated in the SAC last year but was unable to compete for championships and individual awards. Full status as a member of the conference and of the NCAA is effective immediately.
Big honor for West Henderson volleyball coach Jan Stanley--she has been elected to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame. She will be inducted in the spring of 2009.
