The Owen Warhorses are one of the mountain's tradition powers, but this year could be a struggle, at least early.
Owen only has 28 players on the 2008 squad, and only 8 seniors. Coach Kenny Ford says this is the first time in his 23 years that he doesn't have a runningback that has come up through the systerm. This year his backs are either converted receivers or off the jayvee squad.
He will use a lot of the younger players from a 9-1 jayvee squad of last season. Ford feels his club will get better as the year progresses and keep that winning tradition alive, but he knows it will be tough early. Owen Preview (08-11-08)
