The season opener of prep volleyball was special. The two state champs from the mountains, Asheville Christian Academy and Hendersonville, who won their respective state titles in 2007, squared off in Hendersonville Tuesday night.
ACA jumped on top early and came away with the 3-0 win.
Our prep football previews continue in Robbinsville, where the Knights have a new coach who isn't new to the community. Dee Walsh, a Robbinsville alum and former head coach there, back again trying to take his alma mater all the way to the top of the Smoky Mountain Conference. Walsh was offensive coordinator at Hayesville where he was known to have high powered offenses. The Knights should be good on offense too, with 7 starters returning.
