Asheville Trade Exchange (07/29/08)

Companies have been doing it for years. Now, more small businesses are bartering.
Stewart Auten owns a printing company in Asheville. He's been bartering for years. Using a local trade exchange company, Infinity Group, Auten has traded services for trips, carpet, and even roofing on his business.
Members of Infinity Group earn trade dollars for services performed.
"That's the wonderful thing about it. It's like money. You and I don't have to swap our individual services. I simply give you credit and you can take the dollars and go spend them elsewhere," Auten explains.
