Authorities found two bodies in a mobile home in north Buncombe County on Thursday afternoon and say the deaths appear suspicious.
Deputies were called to the home on Kaitlyn Rd. around 1 p.m. for a welfare check and discovered the bodies inside. Neighbors say 39-year-old Don Harwood and his mother, Linda Pruitt, lived together in the home. A friend, Dennis Chandler, called 911 after smelling a strong odor coming from the home. Chandler says no one has seen Harwood or Pruitt for weeks.
The State Bureau of Investigation are assisting with the investigation. Authorities believe the bodies have been there for some time. The bodies were transported to Chapel Hill on Thursday night and autopsies will be performed Friday morning.
