Restaurants across the mountains are being hit by robbers in the middle of the night.
Now police say the crimes are connected.
Last month, Burger King restaurants in Canton and Fletcher were robbed.
In both cases, surveillance video caught two people wearing hooded sweatshirts sawing into the restaurants' safes.
On October 31st, a similar crime happened at the Shoney's Restaurant in Haywood County.
On November 3rd, investigators say it happened at the Arby's in Waynesville.
Investigators feel the common thread is the method used to cut open the safes.
They've also spoken to detectives in South Carolina and Lincolnton, North Carolina, and believe similar crimes there are also connected.
If you have any information in the case, call the Haywood County Sheriff's Office or the Waynesville Police Department.
Investigators are also urging restaurant owners to be vigilant. They say there's a good chance the restaurants robbers could strike again.
