North Carolina lawmakers begin voting on a new budget that will increase taxes for everyone, no matter how rich or poor.
The deal includes a 1% sales tax hike, a 10-cent per pack hike on cigarettes, and varying increases on beer, wine, and liquor.
It also includes a 2% income tax surcharge for singles making over $60,000 a year, and couples making over $100,000 a year.
The budget would require a second vote tomorrow before it's sent to Governor Perdue.
