Mission Hospital Board Chair George Renfro responded Wednesday in an on-camera interview to issues that have arisen involving physician/hospital relationships.
The problem first came to light months ago and again in a recent employee satisfaction survey.
"I don't think anybody from management or the board was happy with the results of the survey" says Renfro.
He goes on to tell us, "There will be changes and recommendations coming from management to the board as to things we need to do and the areas we need to shore up".
Local physicians have made it clear they aren't happy with the administration and much of that criticism has been aimed at CEO Joseph Damore.
"I think it's unfortunate and I think it's unfair. I certainly don't think Joe deserves the finger to be pointed at him for everything but I also think he understands it's the job that he took."
An August 3rd letter to physicians from both the Chair and CEO references an intolerance for intimidation and threats. Renfro says that's due to a doctor's allegations of bullying.
A special committee is currently investigating all the problems and claims. It will present its findings to various hospital sub-committees on September 15th. It will present them to the full board September 28th.
