WINTER STORM WARNING THROUGH 7 AM THURSDAY FOR MOST OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA INCLUDING ASHEVILLE AND BUNCOMBE COUNTY.
Tuesday will bring a rain/snow mix early, to eventually all rain throughout the afternoon and then back to snow by evening as temperatures fall from the mid & upper-30s to freezing. The exceptions will be higher elevations (above 4,000 feet) near the TN border that will see mostly snow tomorrow with an additional 2"-4".
Tuesday night will bring snow to all of Western North Carolina, which could carry-over into Wednesday for many.
Asheville could see as much as 1"-2" total with this storm by Wednesday evening, while Northern Mountains could see as much as 4"-6".
Turning much colder and windy behind this system for your Wednesday. Expect wind chill values to fall into the single digits in many places to around 0 by Wednesday evening and overnight into Thursday.
A quiet, but cold weather pattern settles in for Thursday and could last through the upcoming weekend.
